Attractive and Flavorful Beef Stir-Fry with Tomatoes
If you're looking for a delicious, easy-to-eat, easy-to-make, nutritious, and attractive stir-fry dish, you might want to try beef stir-fry with tomatoes. The stir-fried beef is tender and sweet, combined with tomatoes and other vegetables for an appealing, fresh flavor.
Ingredients
- 250g beef
- 300g tomatoes
- 150g onions
- 200g pineapple
- 4-5 cloves garlic, 1 small ginger root
- Green onions, 1 chili pepper (if available)
- Seasonings: flavor enhancer, sugar, oyster sauce, fish sauce, ground pepper
Instructions
Marinating the Beef
Thinly slice the beef, and marinate it with:
- 1 teaspoon of bouillon powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon of cooking oil
Mix well and let the beef absorb the spices for about 5-10 minutes.
Preparing Other Ingredients
Finely chop the garlic and ginger.
Segment the tomatoes and onions.
Remove the core of the pineapple and cut into small triangles.
Cut the spring onions into 3-4 cm pieces and slice the horn chili diagonally. Adding horn chili not only provides a slight spicy kick but also makes the stir-fry more visually appealing.
Cooking the Tomato Beef Stir-fry
For stir-fried beef dishes, it's best to stir-fry the beef separately, then combine it with the other ingredients later. This way, the beef stays tender and moist, avoiding toughness from overcooking.
Stir-fry the beef with half the chopped garlic and ginger over high heat. Cook it quickly until it's medium-rare, then remove from heat and set aside.
Next, sauté the remaining garlic and ginger until fragrant. Add the tomatoes and pineapple, stir-frying on high heat.
After about a minute, add the onions and season slightly with bouillon powder and oyster sauce. This will enhance the flavors of the ingredients. Then add the beef, spring onions, and horn chili. Add some fish sauce to taste, stir quickly for about 15 seconds, sprinkle some freshly ground pepper, mix well and turn off the heat.
The tomato beef stir-fry is not only visually appealing but also delicious. The enticing aroma, the tender, sweet beef, the slightly sour tomatoes, along with pineapple and onions for a refreshing touch, make this dish a must-try. It's a delightful stir-fry that I personally think you should prepare for your family to enjoy; it's tasty without being cloying.
